Asian Science Camp 2022

Asian Science Camp 2022 (ASC 2022) will be held from 24 July to 30 July 2022 in Daejeon, South Korea.

As you may well know, the ASC is an annual forum which aims to enlighten those science talented youths through discussion and dialogue with top scholars in the world and to promote the international friendship and cooperation among the best young students of the next generation in Asia. The participating students are those selected from High Schools and Universities (1st and 2nd year) who show keen interest and promise in science.

The idea of ASC was first mooted in 2005 after the Lindau Science Meeting by Professor Yuan-Tseh Lee, the 1986 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, and Professor Masatoshi Koshiba, the 2002 Nobel Laureate in Physics. Modeled after the Lindau Science Meeting which has been held in Germany for more than half a century, the ASC provides a platform for dialogue and discussion amongst promising talented youth and invited Nobel Laureates and Eminent Scientists. It also helps to develop international friendship and cooperation among Asian young scientists of the next generation.

ASC 2022 is organized by the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT of Korea. It is the 14th of the series, following successful camps at Taipei (2007), Bali, Indonesia (2008), Tsukuba, Japan (2009), Mumbai, India (2010), Daejeon, South Korea (2011), Jerusalem, Israel (2012), Tsukuba again (2013), Singapore (2014), Bangkok, Thailand (2015), Bangalore, India (2016), Kampar, Malaysia (2017), Manado, Indonesia (2018), and Shantou, China (2019).
